Yusif Abubakar has been confirmed as the new coach of Berekum Chelesea.
The former Wassaman trainer replaces Han Vander Pluijm who has been elevated to the Technical Director position at the club.
Abubakar’s comprehensive football philosophy is perfectly aligned with those at the ambitious Ghanaian side and was offered a one-year renewable deal.
He was the first choice unanimously among a host of coaches linked with the position and had no hesitation at all in embracing what the club wants to build in the upcoming season.
“We would like to confirm the appointment of Yusif Abubakar as our new head coach,” PRO Isaac Amponsah told Kumasi-based Fox FM
“We believe he brings wealth of experience to bear on the team and will use his expertise to help us achieve our target of winning the Premier League title.
“Annor Walker will remain his assistant. We wish him well and hope that he will be able to make the club proud.”
Berekum Chelsea is a step up for Abubakar from his previous job as the assistant coach at Medeama.
“We believe he brings wealth of experience to bear on the team and will use his expertise to help us achieve our target of winning the Premier League title.
