When GHANAsoccernet.com's Akyereko Frimpong Manson went to meet former Ghana international forward Felix Aboagye, the Al Ahli legend selected his final 23-man squad for Rio coming June.

Find out who made his squad as he made surprise inclusions and sent only two strikers to go out and face Portugal and Germany.

Goalkeepers: Fatau Dauda, Adam Kwarasey, Daniel Agyei Reason: Aboagye feels Dauda and Kwarasey deserve automatic places due to their consistency in the team over the period. Despite Dauda's inactivity at Orlando Pirates, he thinks the former AshGold man should be on the plane to Rio. Kwarasey, according to him, could also come in good with his European experience after captaining his club to win the Norwegian league title and being around in the national team for some time. He wasn't too sure about Agyei but picked him ahead of Razak Brimah, Foli Adadd, Isaac Amoako and Stephen Adams. He says Richard Kingson's recall could spark public agitation and there is no need taking him to Brazil no matter his performance for his new club in Turkey.

Defenders: Awal Mohammed, Lee Addy, David Addy are told to hang on for Russia 2018 while he welcomes back Isaac Vorsah from a long injury spell. Here's his picks. It's the usual names but Rashid Sumaila earns a place due following his performance in the play-offs against Egypt. Harrison Afful, Daniel Opare, Samuel Inkoom, Jerry Akaminko, Jonathan Mensah, Isaac Vorsah, John Boye, Rashid Sumaila. A clubless John Mensah will retire without having a feel of a third World Cup. According to the Felix. Other players considered. Davidson Drobo-Ampem, Richard Kissi-Boateng, Baba Rahman Abdul, Nana Akwasi Asare.

Midfielders

Derek Boateng is on the plane but Albert Adomah, Emmanuel Frimpong and Solomon Asante who have featured prominently in Kwesi Appiah's plans are dropped.

Hopefuls Samuel Afum, Ishmael Yartey, Frank Acheampong, Shadrach Eghan, Bennard Kumordzi, Afriyie Acquah and Anthony Annan are all told to wait for their luck.

Here's his real midfielders for the job and his justification.

Michael Essien, Derek Boateng, Rabiu Mohammed, Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu, Wakaso Mubarak, Kwadwo Asamoah, Sulley Muntari, Kevin-Prince Boateng, Andre Ayew and Christian Atsu.

Essien's experience speaks for his inclusion while Kwadwo Asamoah, Sulley Muntari and Kevin-Prince Boateng are considered big players who must play in Brazil. Andre Ayew's pedigree is big and it would be disastrous to miss him at the WC.

Agyemang-Badu, Wakaso Mubarak and Christian Atsu have worked for their places in the team.

Rabiu deputized well for Essien during his absence and his form in the early stages of the qualifiers was good enough. He was commanding a first team place at Kuban Krasnodar before his injury.

THE DEREK REASON: the Fulham man heading to Watford has got enough experience under his belt and commands a lot of respect in the team. Seen as a leader, he inspires up and coming players in the team. "He will regain form at Watford."

Other players considered: Yussif Chibsah, Alfred Duncan, Kwame Quansah and Edwin Gyimah.

Forward Only Abdul Waris and Asamoah Gyan are the typical outfield frontmen for the job.

No debut WC appearance for Jordan Ayew, Dominic Adiyiah, Mahatma Otoo and Seidu Bancey won't have a space.

Fatau Dauda - Daniel Opare, Harrison Afful, Isaac Vorsah, Akaminko - Michael Essien, Kwadwo Asamoah, Andre Ayew, Kevin-Prince Boateng, Sulley Muntari - Asamoah Gyan

Formation: 4-2-3-1
