The agent of Ghanaian youngster Derrick Appiah says the midfielder has a future at big-spending French Ligue 1 side AS Monaco.

The 18-year-old was signed a two-and-a-half year contract on deadline day of the January transfer window.

But Appiah rejoined his Ghana Premier League side Amidaus Professionals waiting for his work permit but picked up a leg injury.

He was flown back to Monaco for treatment and has now recovered fully.

Monaco's financial power of raiding the transfer market means the less experienced Appiah will not be given the opportunity to express himself but that has been dispelled by his representative.

"His future is safe at Monaco and I don't think the club will discard him. They know what he is capable of doing and he has a future there," FIFA player agent Oliver Arthur told MTNFootball.com

Appiah is in Ghana for holidays and will leave for pre-season next week.
