Egypt goalkeepers coach Zaki Abdel-Fattah has praised youngster Ahmed El-Shennawy for his heroics in Monday’s 2-0 friendly win over Uganda in Cairo.
The Zamalek player has convinced the technical team ahead of the October 15 World Cup playoff against Ghana in Kumasi.
“El-Shennawy has delivered a great performance and this proves the technical staff were right to select him,” Abdel-Fattah told Ahram Sport after the game.
“He is a talented and experienced young goalie and Egypt can depend on him in the upcoming crucial matches.
“The three goalies [El-Shennawy, Sherif Ekrami and Mohamed Sobhi] have been given full opportunities and all have participated in previous games.”
