Yaw Acheampong could be sacked over Ashantigold failure

Ashantigold Chief Executive Kudjoe Fianoo has hinted head coach Yaw Acheampong could be sacked if he is unable to reverse their hot and cold performances in the top-flight.

The miners were shell-shocked by Aduana Stars after going down 1-0 at home in their last Premier League encounter on November 11.

The Obuasi-based club have also been hit with injuries to key players including defensive duo Prince Anokye and Lawrence Lartey.

But the club’s Chief Executive says management won’t tolerate any excuses from the trainer and his backroom staff.

“We cannot continue to be playing second fiddle in the League. If we want to win, then we must pick some valuable points,” Fianoo said

“We held a with technical team and informed them that if it continues like this, we’ll be left with no choice but to make heads roll.

“Indeed heads will roll if this on and off performance continues.”

Ashantigold travel to the Golden City Park in Berekum to face Berekum Arsenals on Sunday.
