Ishmael Yartey is vying for the best goal in the Swiss top-flight
Ghana winger Ishmael Yartey has been nominated for the Swiss Super League best goal of the season award.
The 22-year-old’s ferocious drive from 35 yards against Xamax last October has been selected among ten other goals.
The SL Benfica loanee made space for himself before darting home a fierce drive from 35 yards.
But he faces stiffer competition from team-mate Goran Karanovic, FC Basel’s Xherdan Shaqiri, FC Zurich’s Dusan Djuric and six other players.

Ishmael Yartey is my description of Ghana’s David Silver. He is awesome. This time around, there will be serious competition for a place in the blackstars bcos more players are coming out from different leagues with exceptional performances for the various clubs. Super Talented players all over. Am Very excited to see these Talents hail from Ghana. I am sure the coach will have headache during player selection.
Mike you right on point!…lotta talented players who should be called up, Yartey, Atsu, Frank Acheampong, Tawrick Jabril, David Addy, Nana Akwesi Asare, and Coach Kwesi Appiah should constantly call Waris, Jordan and Boakye-Yiadom, so that these young strikers can transition into really helping the Black Stars in the goal scoring section!!
