Ishmael Yartey and Ebenezer Assifuah dominated the headlines among Ghanaian players abroad as the duo scored to propel FC Sion to a 2-0 win over Grasshoppers in the Swiss Super League. 

Mahatma Otoo also grabbed his debut goal in the Norwegian top-flight league while former AshGold striker Yakubu Mohammed also scored in the South African PSL.

Swedish-born Robin Quaison also came off the bench to score for AIK Solna.

ENGLAND

Chelsea put in strong performance to beat Manchester City 2-1 at the Stamford Bridge. Michael Essien was not in the Chelsea team.

Elsewhere Arsenal posted a 2-0 win over Crystal Palace. Midfielder Emmanuel Frimpong was not in the Arsenal set-up.

In the Npower Championship, winger Albert Adomah scored a double for Middlesbrough in their 4-0 hammering of Barnsley.

ITALY

Napoli posted a 2-0 win over ten-man Torino side at the Stadio San Paolo. Ghanaian starlet Emmanuel Gyasi who signed a professional contract for Torino last week did not play as manager Giampiero Ventura did not select him for the game.

Youngster Maxwell Acosty was unused by Chievo Verona in their 2-1 home defeat to Fiorentina.

Midfielder Raman Chibsah was unused by Sassuolo in their 0-0 draw at Catania. AC Milan loanee Kingsley Boateng was not in the Catania team.

Kwadwo Asamoah lasted 73 minutes for Juventus in their 2-0 win over Genoa at the Juventus Arena. Midfielder Isaac Cofie was unused by Genoa.

Parma shocked themselves with a 3-2 win over AC Milan at the Stadio Ennio Tardini on Sunday. The in-form Sulley Muntari was unused by Milan same as Afriyie Acquah who watched the entire action from the bench.

Michael Bradley scored late for on-fire AS Roma who beat Udinese with ten men. Midfielder Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu played full throttle for Udinese but could not help them to avoid the defeat.

Defender Masahuhu Alhassan saw the full 90 minutes of action Latina in their 1-1 draw at Carpi.

Spezia managed to beat Modena 2-1 at the Stadio Alberto Picco. Ghana midfielder Amidu Salifu played the full 90 minutes and got booked in the 27th minute.

Fiorentina loanee Nii Nortey Ashong came off the bench to play 11 minutes for Spezia while Emmanuel Prince Duodu Besea.

AUSTRIA

Isaac Vorsah is still not back in action for Red Bull Salzburg when they travelled to beat Grödig 3-0 in the Austrian Bundesliga.

FRANCE

Andre Ayew assisted Florian Thuavin for his goal in Marseille's 3-2 loss against Stade Reims and lasted the full 90 minutes for Les Olympians.

Jordan Ayew came off the bench in the second-half to play in the game for Marseille but could not help them to avoid the defeat.

Defender John Boye watched his Stade Rennes' side on the screen as they powered to a 5-0 win over Toulouse.

Jonathan Mensah could not return in time from injury to play for Evian TG in their 1-0 away win over Valenciennes.

In the Ligue 2, AS Monaco loanee Dennis Appiah played the entire minutes for Caen when they gotten 2-1 by Nancy at home.

GERMANY

Kevin-Prince Boateng wasted a 30th minute penalty in Schalke 04's 3-1 defeat to Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga on Saturday.

Karim Bellarabi played 60 minutes for Eintracht Braunschweig in their 2-0 away defeat at Mainz 05.

In the Bundesliga II, Marcel Appiah played full throttle for Arminia Bielefeld who suffered their fifth straight defeat after losing 1-0 to Koln.

Defender Baba Abdul Rahman was an unused sub by Greuther Furth in their 1-0 home loss to Ingolstadt.

Charles Takyi played full throttle for Energie Cottbus in their 1-0 away defeat to Dynamo Dresden.

MSV Duisburg managed to hold Stuttgart to a 1-1 draw. Attacker Erich Berko 82 minutes for Stuttgart II while defender Phil Ofosu-Aryeh finished the game for Duisburg.

Midfielder Evans Owusu Nyarko came off the Borussia Dortmund II bench to play the last 6 minutes when they won 3-1 against Wacker Burghausen with ten men.

NETHERLANDS

Heracles Almelo shocked themselves with a 2-1 away win over Feyenoord. Kwame Quansah played a key role in the game but striker Matthew Amoah and Edwin Gyasi were unused substitutes.

Youngster Shadrach Eghan was unused by FC Twente when they lost 3-2 against ADO Den Haag.

Jeffrey Sarpong scored in the 35th minute for NAC Breda in their 5-0 hammering of Go Ahead Eagles.

Striker Fred Benson played the full 90 minutes for PEC Zwolle but he failed to find the back of the net as they lost 2-0 AZ Alkmaar who did not have Ghanaian starlet Raymond Gyasi in their team.

Christian Atsu was replaced by Gael Kakuta in the 81st minute of Vitesse Arnhem's 2-2 draw against FC Groningen. Defender Johan Kapperlorf finished the full 90 minutes for Groningen.

Memphis Depay was red-carded in 63rd minute in PSV Eindhoven's 2-1 away loss to Roda JC.

Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan played the full 90 minutes for Al Ain in their 1-1 away draw against Al Wahda.

Canadian-born defender Kofi Opare played full throttle for LA Galaxy in their 1-1 draw against Seattle Sounders.

Vancouver Whitecaps posted a comfortable 3-0 win over Colorado Rapids.

Gershon Koffie played the entire 90 minutes for Whitecaps.

Lloyd Sam scored in the 56th minute for New York Red Bull in their 5-2 win over Chicago Fire. Striker Patrick Nyarko played 61 minutes for Fire and was replaced by Quincy Amanrikwa.

Striker Dominic Oduro was red carded in the 90th minute while he was in action for Columbus Crew in their 1-0 home loss to New England Revolution.

Khalif Alhassan was introduced before the start of the season half by Portland Timbers in their 5-0 away win over Chivas USA.

NORWAY

Mahatma Otoo scored his first goal in the Norwegian top-flight after scoring under two minutes for Sogndal in their 2-1 win over Sandnes Ulf.

Gilbert Koomson was unused in by Sogndal.

Kennedy Ashia was axed from the Brann first team when they drew 0-0 with Hønefoss.

King osei-Gyan lasted the entire 90 minutes for Viking but they lost 3-1 to Aalesund before their home fans.

Stromsgodset opened a three point lead at the top of the table after beating IK Start 1-0. Adam Kwarasey was the only Ghanaian player who featured in the game for Stroms as Razak Nuhu and Nana Boateng were not in the team.

Ernest Asante started the game and played till he was replaced in the second half of the game.

AIK Solna travelled to beat Brommapojkarna 6-0 to inch closer to a Europa League spot and Swedish-born Robin Quaison scored the sixth goal in the game.

Ebenezer Ofori came off the bench to replace Ibrahim Moro.

David Accam and Ema Boateng both played for Helsingborg in their 3-2 home loss to Kalmar.

Daniel Amartey and Yussif Chibsah played in Djurgården's 1-1 draw against Gefle.

Godsway Donyoh was left on the bench while Joachim Adukor was introduced with a minute left.

Zakaria Abdullai was also unused.

Nasiru Mohammed lasted 72 minutes for BK Hacken in their 3-1 home loss to Halmstad BK.

Yakubu Mohammed scored for Maritzburg United in their 2-0 away win over AmaZulu. Defender Awal Issah Mohammed and Frank Sarfo-Gyamfi both played in the game.
