Former management member of Asante Kotoko Afrifa Yamoah Ponko has revealed his hidden ambition to return to the club as Chief Executive.
The current Municipal Chief Executive of Ejisu-Juaben was integral to Kotokoââ¬â¢s league success in 2005 as the Operations Manager of the side.
Ponkoââ¬â¢s charisma endeared him to many Kotoko fans and is still loved despite his veering into politics.
But the tough-talking personality says he wishes to return to lead Kotoko one day.
ââ¬ÅThis is a hidden ambition that I cannot hide,â⬠he told Metro FM.
ââ¬ÅIt is through Kotoko that I am where I am now. Kotoko introduced me to almost everything in my life.
ââ¬ÅFootball is related to politics. Talk of the great men in politics but behind sports.
ââ¬ÅIf you to Italy you have the likes of [Silvio] Berlusconi, if you come to Ghana you have the late Professor Mills, everywhere.
ââ¬ÅBut for the mean time I have been entrusted with a political task and that is where my focus is.
ââ¬ÅHowever if God grants me long life and good health then definitely coming back to Kotoko is something I will do.
ââ¬ÅNow we have to put our support behind the current leadership to ensure that the club becomes successful.ââ¬
