Yakubu, Latif on target as local Black Stars cruise to training win

On-fire striker Yakubu Mohammed scored his fourth goal in two training games for the local Black Stars as they beat AshGold’s reserves 2-0 on Thursday morning.

The 24-year-old who bagged a hat-trick in Wednesday’s 5-0 mauling of an Obuase Select Side connected well with a Michael Helebge intelligent pass to register the opening goal.

Berekum Chelsea forward Latif Salifu underlined his fine form in the Glo Premier League by scoring the clincher mid-way through the second half.

Coach Dauda Lutterodt will trim down the squad from 27 to 20 before the team leaves for Sao Paolo, Brazil for the invitational tournament.
