Tema Youth chairman Winfred Osei says in-form Yahaya Mohammed can achieve his career goals if he corrects his behaviour off the field.

Although he was not specific, Mohammed, a former Tema Youth player, has been accused of his appearances at nightclubs and partying.

Yaya was a darling player for Tema Youth before he left for OG Nice but we were disturbed when he returned to the country for inexplicable reasons,” Osei said.

“He has great qualities but my problem has to do with his off the field issues. If he can manage that very he will become a great player.”

Mohammed, on-loan from Kotoko, has come on in leaps and bounds this term after banging in nine goals in the Ghana Premier League.

The 26-year-old earned a surprise call-up in Ghana’s provisional 26-man squad for the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations.

The offensive midfielder was one of the six locally-based players selected from the Ghana Premier League.

Mohammed must put up a good fight to earn a place in Ghana’s final 23-man squad for the tournament.
