Amidaus Professionals midfielder Yahaya Mohammed says he’s astonished at his omission from the 24-man squad for this month’s 2014 World Cup qualifier against Sudan.

The 24-year-old was surprisingly was left out of the squad by coach Kwesi Appiah despite recovering from a knee injury which ruled him out of the 2013 African Cup of Nations.

The on-loan Asante Kotoko enforcer says he’s surprised at his exclusion insisting he’s fully fit to have played a part in the crunch tie at the Baba Yara stadium.

“I will say I am surprised because I was expecting to make the squad for the Sudan match but all the same I wish them well for the game,” Mohammed told Storm FM.

“I hear they claim I have an injury but that is never true because I was given three weeks to recover from my injury I sustained before the Nations Cup but that three weeks is long overdue and I have even played two games and scored once.

“I chose not to play the FA Cup match because I didn’t want to invite any injury before this Sudan match so I am fully fit and was expecting a call-up.”

The former OGC Nice midfielder is the leading goal scorer in the Ghana Premier League with 11 goals.

  1. PITO says:

This mediocre player who has not even played a debut match in Blackstar jersey has the confidence to say he is surprised of his exclusion. Where is his confidence of a call up coming from? The only explanation is he has done all the underground payments and palm greasing necessary for a call up. am I lie? If Boakye Yiadom and frank acheampong with games under their belt is not screaming surprise, why are you yet-to-be-debuted Yahaya screaming surprise?

Masa yahaya, park urself and let us win our game against sudan……we are very serious to win our matches

do u think we ar jokin wid dis crucial qualifiers? Tcheeeeeew

  4. Samedge says:

Yahaya i’am sorry but i want you to take a close look at the debudants, with the exception of E. Frimpong the rest are strikers & defenders. This tells that if anyone want midfielders for rituals Ghana is always the right place to get.Yahaya come again but this time come as a defender or striker

  5. Dr Who says:

If you are indeed surprise then join the Ayews.
