Winger Quansah makes injury return for Arsenal Kiev

Abeiku Quansah finally marked his return from a long-term injury lay-off

By Akyereko Frimpong Manson

Ghana youth winger Abeiku Quansah made a return from a long-term injury lay-off to play for Arsenal Kiev in their one-all stalemate with Volyn on Friday.

The 2009 Fifa U-20 World Cup gold medalist returned to training for Arsenal Kiev two weeks ago after winning the battle over a nagging knee injury that had sidelined him for three months.

Gunners boss Leonid Kuchuk handed the 21-year-old his first minutes of action since pre-season by introducing him in the 89th minute to replace Ukrainian international Aleksandr Kovpak.

The former OG Nice winger had the last bite of action when he glanced a shot wide from the edge of the box in stoppage time.

Compatriot Dominic Adiyiah scored the opener for Arsenal Kiev in the 81st minute.
