Zambia captain Christopher Katongo says he will fight for victory in this Friday’s crucial Group D 2014 Brazil World Cup qualifier against Ghana.
Katongo, who celebrated his 31st birthday on Saturday believes this is the only opportunity for him to achieve his World Cup dream by dimming the Black Stars at the Baba Yara Stadium.
The Henan Jienye player is highly optimistic they will pull the qualification rag from under the feet of the Black Stars.
”I am 31 today (Saturday) and you know what this means. The next World Cup will be in 2018 and by that time I will be old. Time is not on my side and I will fight in Kumasi like a soldier,” Katongo said.
“We are going to Kumasi to win. I will go to Kumasi to fight for my country. I want to achieve something in my career.”
Katongo left China yesterday ( Sunday) and is expected to join the Chipolopolo today at the traditional camping place in Johannesburg.
