Ghana coach Yusif Basigi says his side are still in contention to progress from the African Womenââ¬â¢s Championship Group stage despite losing their opener 1-0 to Algeria. Ã
Black Queens must beat South Africa in their second match on Wednesday to revive their chances.
Basigi says his players will handle the match by the scruff of the neck against the Bayana Bayana.
ââ¬ÅWe will go into the game against South Africa as if itââ¬â¢s our first match. Itââ¬â¢s a little bit dicey and the fact that South Africa lost makes the group very tough,â⬠Basigi told www.cafonline.com
ââ¬ÅWe are still in contention and Iââ¬â¢m full of hope that my girls will qualify.ââ¬
Basigi, who coaches a Ghana Premier League side, has predicted two teams from the group to be amongst the three top finishers that will qualify for the 2015 FIFA World Cup in Canada.
ââ¬ÅI want to assure that two teams from Group B will qualify for the World Cup,â⬠he concluded.
