Vancouver Whitecaps coach Carl Robinson has identified Ghanaian midfielder Gershon Koffie as one of three players knocking on the door for a starting place this season.
Koffie alongside Sam Adekugbe and Darren Mattocks were introduced at half time and influenced their final pre-season match which ended 1-1.
After the match Robinson said: ââ¬ÅThey were fantastic in their attitude but also their play. Theyââ¬â¢re knocking right on the door to start. Iââ¬â¢ve got some good decisions to make. Thatââ¬â¢s good, because I didnââ¬â¢t have them last year. But Iââ¬â¢ve got them this year.ââ¬
Koffie, 23, is in his fourth season at the club and wants to improve last seasonââ¬â¢s one goal in
Whitecaps start their campaign in the Western Conference on Saturday on 7 March against Toronto.
