West Bromwich have frozen talks to sign Jordan Ayew due to the recent injury to goalkeeper Ben Foster.
The Baggies were looking to sign the Ghana striker on a season’s-long loan deal to bolster their ranks.
The English club have now shelved off talks for Ayew in order to find an immediate replacement for the injured Foster who is ruled out for three months.
The youngest son of Ghana legend was said to be interested in the loan move following his extended bench warming role at Olympique Marseille at the start of the season.
West Brom were looking to sign a striker – preferring Jordan – to replace Nicolas Anelka who has been granted an indefinite compassionate leave.
