Coach Orlando Wellington has tipped the country’s Under-20 team to conquer Africa next year.

The Black Satellites recorded a 5-4 aggregate win over Morocco to qualify to the African Youth Championship to be held in Algeria next year.

The former Berekum Chelsea and Heart of Lions man who quit the team over media pressure is thrilled with the progress made by the team and confident they can become champions again.

“I am very happy for the technical team and the players for a good job done,” Wellington told GHANAsoccernet.com

“They now have to focus on the championship proper. I have no doubt in my mind that with serious preparations and determination, this team will go places.

“We have to encourage them and I believe they can win the cup in Algeria.

Ghana conquered Africa and the world in 2009 but flattened to deceive at the 2011 African Youth Championship in South Africa where the team failed to go past the group phase.
