Ghana defender Baba Abdul Rahman played his first Bundesliga match for Augsburg on Saturday as they opened their campaign a 2-0 reverse at  TSG Hoffenheim.

The left-back was handed a starting role by coach Markus Weinzierl and played the entire duration at the Wirsol Rhein-Neckar-Arena.

The 21-year-old made the switch from Bundesliga II side Greuther Furth two weeks ago has given a good account of himself.

Hoffenheim needed two quick first half goals from Adam Szala on 33 minutes and Tarik Elyounoussi two minutes later to wrap up the win.

Rahman has been invited for Ghana’s double 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Uganda and Togo next month.

this guy and Schlupp shud be able to solve our left back problem when they are given much playing. They are getting playing time in their teams and is no other league than the EPl and GBL.

Say it again Rokavilla! I watched both games involving Schlupp and Rahman and i tell what, both players were superb. Am suprised none made the cut for the WC. and AA was crying for a left back. This clearly shows how incompetent AA is. A good coach is supposed to smothen the rough edges of a player and make him a better one, but doesn’t sit down and wait for a ready-made player. Where are they going to come from, the Moon….?
And they are playing in the German Bundesliga and the English Premier League for that matter. Oh! AA, u lack forsight.
With these two players together with Massawudu Alhassan of Udinese, no serious coach will complain of lack of left full backs. Opare and Afful can now concentrate on the right full back duties. Kwesi Appiah be serious if u really want to coach the Black Stars!!
