Waris' double lifts Hacken in Swedish Cup

Posted On Monday, 20th August 2012

Abdul Majeed Waris celebrates his second goal

Ghana striker Abdul Majeed Waris scored a brace to help BK Hacken defeat third-tier side Akarps 3-0 in the Swedish Cup on Sunday.

The 20-year-old opened the scoring on 25 minutes before wrapping up the win for Peter Gerhardsson’s side in the 65th minute.

Waris collected a well-tailored cross from the right flank and volleyed home a lofty effort to the far post for the match’s opener.

After helping Hacken go 2-0 up in a breathtaking combination play, he registered his second of the afternoon.

Waris coolly tapped home from close range after the Akarps defence failed to deal with a cross from the left.

The brace takes his goal tally in all competitions to 16.
