Mubarak Wakaso’s yellow card appeal has been turned down

Espanyol will definitely be without Mubarak Wakaso for their next game against Real Sociedad after an attempt to have his suspension overturned failed.

The 22-year-old was slapped with a one-game ban on Monday for accumulated yellow cards.

Espanyol appealed to the Spanish Disciplinary Committee to overturn the card on grounds that the foul was an accident.

But that appeal was rejected and the Committee said they will not change their rules on suspension of one-game ban for the Ghanaian international.

Wakaso is currently on international duty with Black Stars ahead of Sunday’s World Cup qualifier against Sudan on Sunday March 24.
