Mubarak Wakaso refuses to single out any team as a main threat to Ghana’s bid to win the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations.
The Black Stars aim to end A 31-year wait for an African title by the time the competition kicks off on January 19 in South Africa.
Teams such as Côte d’Ivoire and Zambia are seen by many as the threats to the Black Stars’ ambition of winning the coveted trophy.
But the Espanyol midfielder believes all teams going to the finals hold real title credentials and should not be underrated.
“For me I don’t underrate any team, football has changed,” he told GHANAsoccernet.com.
“Nobody thought Zambia could win the Nations Cup but they did.
“So for me all the teams there are very good and capable of winning the cup.”
Wakaso joined the rest of his Black Stars teammates that left Accra on Friday for their pre-Nations Cup training camp in Abu Dhabi.
Ghana opens its campaign at the AFCON against DR Congo on January 20 before facing Mali and Niger in the subsequent Group B games.
GREAT!!! That’s a great attitude to have ahead of a great competition like AFCON. I’m glad we have not read a lot of “WE WILL WIN” from our players.
In 2010 when hopes were lost,we were able to get to the grand finale.I see the same thing happening.
This kid is wise beyond his years. That is the right attitude to have. I still don’t think they will get far.
Fu-chu,,,If you don’t think so,lt’s your own imagination .For me l am very sure they will and will even win the cup this time.Your country will be eliminated in the first round because no luck games this time.
WISE TALK
wakasso is the only wise black stars player??
