Mubarak Wakaso has launched a scathing attack directed at his club Espanyol for turning down that an offer that would have seen the Ghana midfielder's salary multiplied by EIGHT TIMES insisting he will leave if his contract is not massively improved.
In his first statement since several clubs expressed interest in signing him this summer, the midfielder blasted officials of the Spanish clubs for rejecting request to sign him.
The powerful winger would have earned 1.5 million Euros annually and 300,000 Euros bonuses if the Spanish club had agreed for the midfielder to move to Rubin Kazan.
The Ghanaian player currently earns 20,000 Euros per month with the Spanish outfit, Ghana’s leading football news outfit www.ghanasoccernet.com can exclusively reveal.
But Espanyol slammed the door on Wakaso’s move to Rubin Kazan claiming their offer of signing the player for 6million Euros is not enough.
"I am very angry with the club.'s My contract with Espanyol is a big problem," a fuming Wakaso said, lamenting about his salary 20,000 Euros per month salary which is the lowest in the Espanyol squad even though he is seen as the club's best player.
"I have many offers to leave and they have said no. I want to stay here, but there are many things that must improve on my contract. If not fixed, I am out," the influential midfielder warned.
Wakaso admits he is angry about the Espanyol's decision to deny him the chance to improve his earning but insists he wants to separate his anger from his desire to have a perfect relationship with the coach, his team-mates and supporters of the Spanish club.
"What I want is the best for me and my family. Now I can not say anything specific about my future. I just want to say is that I'm angry," he said.
"But I have hope that in the end, everything will be okay. The important thing now is the team and I have a good relationship with my colleagues and the coaches. My anger at the club (management) is another thing."
This comes after the vice president of Rubin Kazan, Kamil Iskhakov, and the midfielder’s agent, Vicente Fores met with Espanyol President Joan Collet in Cornellà to discuss the deal.
The Tatar club’s representative made the offer before all the parties at the meeting where he proposed the 6m Euro offer.
Collet asked for time to evaluate the proposal and, within hours, the Espanyol chief confirmed that they will not sell the Ghanaian player.
Wakaso's salary at Espanyol is seen by many in the football world as a slave wage as it falls way behind the salaries typically earned by football in the top leagues of England, Spain, Germany, Italy and France.
