Vote: Who do you think is Africa's best player for 2012 - Ayew, Drogba, Toure or Katongo

The Confederation of African Football has announced the list of 10 nominees for the 2012 African Player of the Year.

Who do you think the player deserves the Ballon d'Or of African for this year? Vote for the best player and give us your opinion.

Who will succeed Yaya Toure named best African football player in 2011? The answer will be given on December 20 in Accra, Ghana, at the annual gala of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) .

Ten players are still in contention. Among them are three Ivorians : Yaya Touré (Manchester City), Didier Drogba (Shanghai Shenhua) and Gervinho (Arsenal).

The championship of France Ligue 1 is also well represented with three nominees: André Ayew (Marseille / Ghana) , Younis Belhanda, (Montpellier / Morocco) and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (Saint-Étienne/Gabon).

Among the last four nominees, two play in England: John Obi Mikel (Chelsea / Nigeria) and Demba Ba (Newcastle / Senegal).

Finally, the Cameroonian midfielder of FC Barcelona, ??Alexandre Song, and the captain of the Zambian African champion in 2012 , Christopher Katongo, complete the list.

On the list Didier Drogba, who won the Champions League with Chelsea and finalist CAN-2012 with Côte d'Ivoire, is the favourite.

The captain of the Elephants, already crowned in 2006 and 2009, thus running for his 3rd best African player of the Year award.

Note that the record holder of the award is awards back to Samuel Eto'o , crowned four times (2003, 2004, 2005, 2010) but absent from the list of ten nominees this year.
