Bottled water giants Voltic Ghana Limited has become the latest sponsor of the Ghana top-flight league with US$100,000 deal.

Voltic renewed its sponsorship contract with the Ghana Football Association (GFA) for the 16 Premier League clubs at the FA Secretariat in Accra on Wednesday.

By the contract, the leading bottled-water manufacturer will provide 6,000 cartons of Voltic Natural Mineral Water and a cash component as part of the sponsorship.

A yearly cash amount of ¢65,000, for the next three years which started last September, making a total of ¢195,000, has been factored into the contract.

At the official signing ceremony, the Managing Director of Voltic Ghana Limited, Gregory Metcalf, noted, “Our support for the GFA is as a result of Voltic’s strong belief in giving back to the society that patronizes our products and also provides our human resources.

“This partnership is therefore a perfect opportunity for us to show our appreciation to Ghanaians by supporting football, the passion of the nation.

“It is our hope that our partnership with the GFA will further support the association’s firm drive to promote the culture of excellence in Ghanaian football,” he added.

President of the FA Kwesi Nyantakyi pointed out, “Water is a key ingredient in the life of sportsmen. Players in particular drink a lot water during and after matches. It provides energy to users. I believe this partnership would be beneficial and successful to both parties.”

Both parties put pen to paper for the renewal of the contract.
