Ghana striker Jordan Ayew scored a consolation for Marseille who suffered a shock 3-1 defeat at Sochaux on Sunday.
The 20-year-old reduce the deficit on 55 minutes when a powerfully struck shot went right through the grasp of Simon Pouplin in the home goal.
Without a league win since November, Sochaux were rank outsiders as they approached their home clash against their third-placed opponents.
But despite a lengthy injury list and ending the match with 10 men, Eric Hely’s side produced a battling display to claim all three points.
Most of the damage was done in the first half when Sloan Pirvat opened the scoring after 18 minutes, converting Rafael Dias’ assist.
Forward Cedric Bakambu doubled Sochaux’s lead five minutes before the break and the home fans were in dreamland when Marseille defender Jeremy Morel scored an own goal just one minute into the second half.
Jordan’s elder brother Andre played the entire duration but compatriot Ishmael Yartey was an unused substitute for Sochaux.

Those who thought the inclusion of the Ayew brothers was the recipe for winning Afcon 2013 shd judge and come again!! Match Dede to Wakasu and jordan to Yiadom and tell which pair is INDEED helping BS.
All the best to ghana BS and the humble and determined included young chaps. Go for glory!!!!
Please, let’s stop this behavior. Are you not happy and proud that Ghana is blessed with great talents?
Why do you try to destroy the good reputation of Dede?
Have you forgotten U20 World Cup so soon? Please, encourage our players because we need all of them. 2014 WC is at the corner, Ghana need to parade the best Black Stars squad ever.
THOSE TWO CAN FUCK THEIR ASSES IN MARSEILLES. ENOUGH OF THEM
Guys like you are responsible for our 31 trophy-less years. They started with Abedi/Akwasi Appiah nonsense then Abedi/Tony Yeboah foolishness which won Ghana NOTHING. Please NOT again.
Thank You TT. Well said.
Sammytuga and SnowDemon both of u are ungrateful being. It is People like u who bring unhealthy competition in the team. every player has got his style. so stop comparing. Shallow minds!!
You guys are stupid IDiots! Does Ronaldo not play for Madrid and dont thay loose matches? Kwaseafoo!
Hahahahahahaa. Was i even born when Ghana stopped winning Afcon.
Well let me tel u the fact:
Ghana relied on ppl like Ayew(the supposed untouchables). Today, a smart and unbiased coach like AA is giving playing time to simple, honest, determined but QUALITY players.
Now u sit back and see the consequences: GHANA WILL BE SCORING AND WINNING GAMES; THE TROPHY WILL SOON COME TO GHANA!!!…..and hey i think u can always make ur point without insulting…….
You are being childish, Akwasi Appiah and Dede are both from Ghana. If Ghana wins the trophy every Ghanaian would be happy not only you.
By the way, Akwasi Appiah is being paid by Ghanaians.
If you think AA will deliver a trophy simply because he has won two friendly matches, then you do not deserve to comment on this page. You know nothing about football.
@TT: i dont think we r talkn abt who will/ will not be happy! THE ISSUE IS WE NEED A GHANAIAN PLAYER WHO WILL SHOW HUMILITY AND COMMITMENT TO HELP B/S WIN TROPHIES. If names won Afcon Cote d’ivoire shd hav won the past ten Afcons. Again, Zambia wudnt hav won Afcon 2012. Note: i am not saying dede is not a gud player. BUT HE’S NOT ABOVE GHANA!!!! Any player who will not humbly play, shd be left out. This is wat i’m saying.
Ghana will win only two matches. You guys should pray and hope those friendly games are not counted as the two. I saw Ghana win their first two games. Ungrateful people.
Why are you Ghanaians like that? Everyone tried to blend old and new but Ghanaians think you should destroy the old when a new player comes up. No wonder ghana wins nothing. Go to the Ivory Coast and learn how to blend.
