Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu saw red in Udinese's Coppa Italia exit

Udinese's in-form Ghanaian midfielder Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu suffered a bizarre fate in Italy on Tuesday when he was shown the red card in the match he was sitting on the bench.

Badu was flashed the red card even though he was not on the pitch during Udinese's 2-0 away loss to Fiorentina in the Coppa Italia.

This was a double agony for the Ghana international who has recently been chased by Liverpool and Arsenal as he was hoping to reach the final of the competition of the competition but his sending off and Udinese failing to reach the final was a double agony for him.

The 24-year-old who had picked a blistering form for Les Zebrettes was unused by manager Frederico Guidolin at the VenueStadio Artemio Franchi but in an ugly seen that saw two Udinese players receive cards for their actions, the Ghana midfielder had his own share.

Udinese went into the game with a 2-1 lead from the first-leg but lost the second-leg 2-0 and the closing stages were marred by ill-discipline, as first Cuadrado received a booking that will see him miss the final, before unused Udinese substitute Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu was dismissed for dissent.

The Black Stars midfielder was seen directed off the pitch by the fourth referee after an alteration and expression of unhappiness with a decision by the match official.
