The Algerian side progressed to the next round of the African competition following a 4-1 penalty shootout win.

But, as the Moroccan team was exiting the pitch, they were assaulted and attacked by the Algerian riot police, as well as by the President of Wifak Sétif Hassan Hammar.

The latter made demeaning comments against the components of Raja Casablanca and called them “Jews” in reference to betrayal.

In an interview with local Sports radio channel Radio Mars following the game, Raja Casablanca President Mohammed Boudrika said that 10 Raja players were injured after being beaten up by the Algerian riot police.

According to the Moroccan side’s doctor Mohamed El Arsi, Many Raja Casablanca fans swallowed their tongues and others suffered serious injuries.
