Valenciennes’ Togo international Matthieu Dossevi believes the signing of Ghana striker Abdul Majeed Waris has made a huge difference at the club.

Waris has emerged as the club’s poster boy after scoring six goals; two assists in ten Ligue 1 matches for the struggling side.

Last Saturday, he scored the winner to give his side a 1-0 win over Evian Thonon Gaillard.

"It is true that we did a lot of good. Already he doing his job striker; he scores. But he also brings a lot of speed and depth; what we lacked before,” Dossevi said.

“He allows us to kept our opponents in their halves and keep the ball a little more.

“He is a tonic player in the generous efforts which are the score and minute of play it offers many possibilities, it is good for us."
