Update: Voting underway at CPP congress

General News of Saturday, 12 May 2012Source: citifmonline.com Voting is underway to elect the flagbearer of the Convention Peoples Party at its congress which is currently ongoing at the Essipong Stadium in the Western region.

Two candidates Lawyer Bright Akwetey and Dr. Abu Sakara are vying for the slot with the latter looking more likely to annex the position.

Electoral Officials have given indications that voting should be ending around 7:30 pm where counting would start. Over 2000 delegates are expected to take the decision of who leads the CPP to the December polls to slag it out with Nana Akufo-Addo and incumbent President John Mills.

The two candidate have promised to unite the rank and file of the CPP when they were given the chance to give their campaign messages to the delegates who had gathered the.**
