Unnamed Saudi club table $300,000 bid to sign Hearts striker Otoo

Hearts could lose striker Mahatma Otoo to unnamed Saudi club

An unnamed club in Saudi Arabia have tabled a $300,000 deal for Hearts of Oak striker Mahatma Otoo, GHANAsoccernet.com can exclusively reveal.

The 20-year-old has just recently been appointed the substantive captain of the former African champions.

Otoo has been consistently linked to moves in Europe but none of them have materialized so far.

The former Sporting Mirren hitman emerged the top goal scorer in Ghana’s U-23 team’s successful run at the 2011 All Africa Games in Maputo, Mozambique.

Officials of Hearts according to GHANAsoccernet sources are in deep negotiations with the club and are pushing for a higher fee.

There are however some members of the club’s top hierarchy who are opposed to the prospective move.

A deal is however likely to be struck if the Saudi club is able to meet the demands of the Accra-based club.

Hearts have already signed Gilbert Fiamenyo and with the seeming return to form of striker Edward Affum, Otoo could be sold to balance the club’s books before the Premier League season starts on October 7.

300K for Mahatma is really an insult to H.O.O. Besides its a wrong move for the chap, hope it doesn’t materialize anyway.

  2. joyee osei says:

H.O.O bargain for a higher fee and let the BOY go. Chances are.

  3. quophai says:

The amount is good though i believe it cud be further negotiated. I remember a story of how an European club in Spain wanted to offer USD60,000 for his services. I think if the terms are good, he cud give it a shot… Good luck.

  4. thesalonika says:

Mahatma Otoo is a great player, he has an equally great future and he should rather concentrate on improving himself more at Hearts of Oak for another season or more to increase his price tag on the international market. But this $ 300, 000 thing is really an insult. By the way, at his youthful age, what is he going to Saudi Arabia to do? Great player Mahatma, I say, don’t leave Hearts now, your great time will surely come. God bless you, Hearts, and Ghana.
