United States coach Jurgen Klinsmann was at the Miami Sun Life Stadium on Monday night to watch their World Cup group opponents Ghana during the friendly against South Korea.

The German-born coach was seen in the VIP area during the match as he is seeking to monitor their first opponents in the tough Group D next week at the World Cup in Brazil.

Klinsmann was not part of the 23-man playing contingent that touched down at São Paulo Guarulhos airport early Monday morning with the mission of monitoring the Black Stars.

The United States coach, along with World Cup advisor Berti Vogts and scout Matthias Hamann, skipped out on the team’s first training session in Brazil to watch the Black Stars in person before hopping on an overnight flight to join the team at their team in Sao Paolo.

In Klinsmann’s absence, assistants Tab Ramos and Andreas Herzog ran the US through a light session.

But no matter the load, everything the team does between now and June 16 revolves around a single aim.

    Ghana 4 s k 0 game over,
Jordan has really impress in this game, wish a speedy recovery to waris but if this injury keep him out then I think kwasi appiah will have to go in for accam

    • Yao says:

Paapa1, you couldn’t have said it better. Jordan has redeemed himself and justified his inclusion in the 23-man squad. Just like you said, David Accam would be a perfect substitute for Waris if it turns out that his injury situation is way bad and that he wont be able to play @ the WC. Kudos, BS!

  2. Union Leader says:

If Waris is ruled out(Christ forbid) then AA would have no choice but to call in Edusei . The defense is a nightmare ,ooh !

South Korea did better than the US against Nigeria.Yet, they went down 4-0 to Ghana. A food for thought for Klinsmann.
