Uganda names strong 25-man squad to face Ghana in AFCON qualifier

Uganda coach Milutin Sredojevic has named a 25-man squad to face Ghana and Guinea in the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

The Serbian born dropped strikers Emmanuel Okwi and Daniel Sserunkuma when he announced his players on Wednesday during a press conference at the FA headquarters in Mengo.

Portugal based defender Alex Kakuba who features for Estouria has also been recalled to the team together with the South African based players Denis Onyango and Geoffrey Massa who missed the away game against Mauritania last month.

Youngster Yunus Ssentamu who scored three goals for the Cranes at the 2014 Africa Nations Championship (CHAN) and now features for AS Vita of DR Congo has also been invited.

The Cranes will play away to Ghana on September 5 in the first Group E match in Kumasi.

Goalkeepers: Denis Onyango, Ochan Benjamin, Odongkara Robert, Bwete Brian

Defenders: Dennis Guma, Isaac Isinde, Andy Mwesigwa, Savio Kabugo, Kassaga Richard, Kiiza Martin, Alex Kakuba and Walusimbi Godfrey

Midfielders:  Khalid Aucho, Godfrey Baba Kizito, Mawejje Tony, Miya Farouk, Brian Majwega, Oloya Moses, Kizito Luwagga,  Kyambadde Allan

Strikers: Kiiza Hamis, Ssentongo Robert, Sentamu Yunus Junior, Umony Brian, Massa Geoffrey.
