Uganda will play Ethiopia before facing Ghana

Uganda have lined up a warm-up international friendly against Ethiopia before they host Ghana in the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.

The friendly between the two sides will be played on November 9th at the Mandela National Stadium, Namboole in a bid to prepare to face the Black Stars a week later.

Edgar Watson, the Chief Executive Officer of the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (Fufa) confirmed to AfricanFootball.com on Thursday that the match will be organized in conjunction with the Ministry of Health.

“The Ministry of Health want to use the game to sensitize the public on HIV and will also carry out free testing for fans during the game,” explained Watson.

The game will be timely for Coach Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic ahead of their 2015 Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) qualifier against Ghana on November 15 in Kampala.

The Cranes who lost their last two matches to Emmanuel Adebayor’s Togo will have to be at their best against Group E table leaders Ghana if they hope to revive their qualification hopes.

Coach Sredojevic told AfricanFootball.com that any build-up for the team ahead of the Ghana game will be very welcome because it will help him organize the team better.

Ethiopia Walia Ibex who caused a major upset beating Mali in Bamako 3-2 in a 2015 Afcon qualifier last week will also use the game to prepare for their next home game against Malawi in Addis Ababa.

The Cranes are third in Group E with four points behind Togo and Ghana. Guinea are bottom of the log with four points, but with a poor goal difference.
