Uganda Cranes skipper Andrew Mwesigwa has said Ghana will be more on pressure when the two teams battle this weekend in a 2015 Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) qualifier.
The Black Stars of Ghana will host Uganda Cranes in a 2015 Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) qualifier at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi.
Mwesigwa who was sent-off on Tuesday in the Cranes 2-0 loss to Niger in an International friendly in Niamey told AfricanFootball.com before the team connected to Accra on Thursday that the hosts Ghana are going to be on pressure in-front of their fans.
ââ¬ÅWe know what we want in Ghana and will work hard to get it,â⬠said the skipper who has played for the national team for over 10 years now. Mwesigwa said he has played against Ghana before and knows how to handle them.
ââ¬ÅI know how to handle them. I know they are stars but we are ready for them,â⬠said a confident Tony Mawejje who was voted man of the match when both Uganda and Ghana met during the 2006 World Cup qualifiers.
Head coach Milutin ââ¬ËMichoââ¬â¢ Sredojevic also told the players before they left Niamey on Thursday that as a teacher he has taught his students well and hopes they will pass the exams against Ghana on Saturday.à ââ¬ÅI have done my part, now go for exams. I am confident you will pass,â⬠said the coach.
The Cranes will however miss the services of their on-form striker Geoffrey Massa whose South African team University of Pretoria only released him on Wednesday.
