Uefa Champions League: Kwadwo Asamoah benched as Juventus slip at Atletico Madrid
Kwadwo Asamoah was unused by Juventus in their 1-0 loss at Atletico

Black Stars midfielder Kwadwo Asamoah warmed the Juventus bench in their 1-0 painful away reverse at Atletico Madrid in the Uefa Champions League on Wednesday night.

The 25-year-old versatile midfielder lost his starting berth to ex-France international Patrice Evra and had to watch the entire proceedings of the game from the dug-out at the Estadio Vicente Calderón.

This is a second game on a trot that Asamoah has not featured for Juventus in a competitive fixture. The former Liberty Professionals midfielder was unused during the weekend when Maximilliano Allegri's men beat Atalanta 3-0.

Juventus went into the Group A tie as leaders of the table after winning their opening day game against Malmo FF but the finallists from last season's competition forced them to swallow a bitter pill as an Arda Turan's 75th minute effort consigned the Old Ladies to defeat.

Though Turan's effort ended Juventus without a point from the game but it failed to haul them from the summit of the Group A table as they still sit atop.
