Frank Acheampong came off the bench to play in Anderlecht's 3-0 home loss against Dortmund

Ghana youth international winger Frank Acheampong came off the bench to play for Belgian side Anderlecht but his influence could not alter the fate of the game as Borussia Dortmund thrashed them 3-0 in the Uefa Champions League on Wednesday evening. 

The 20-year-old climbed off the bench in the 73rd minute to replace Guinean midfielder Ibrahima Conte but Dortmund proved too strong for the Pro League side as Gustavo Ramos scored a second-half brace to add to a Ciro Immobile 3rd minute strike at the Stade Constant Vanden Stock in Brussels.

Acheampong was expected to start the tie for Anderlecht after impressing in their opening day stalemate at Galatasaray but was dropped to the bench.

The defeat leaves Anderlecht afoot the Group D table with the Germans have taken a commanding lead after winning both of their opening games.

Anderlecht will host Arsenal in their next game in the competition.
