Two NDC supporters arrested over unauthorised Bimbila demo

General News of Sunday, 25 March 2012Source: citifmonline At least two people have been arrested in Bimbila during an unauthorised demonstration by an NDC youth against the DCE, Mohammed Ibin Abass, for his alleged incompetence.

The irate NDC youth were earlier refused a permit by the police to embark on the demonstration this Sunday by the police because of the current tension in Bimbila.

However, the youth defied the police orders and embarked on the demonstration on Sunday morning resulting in the arrest of two of the demonstrators.

An eyewitness, Abdul Rahaman, who spoke to Citi News said one of the arrested youth was severely beaten with several cuts all over his body.

He said there is massive police presence at the NDC party office in Bimbilla to forestall any trouble in the area.
