Two football fans were arrested at the Kumasi Sports Stadium on Wednesday morning when they taunted Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan over musician Castro’s disappearance at the Black Stars training session.

The police swooped to arrest the two fans to prevent them from being beaten up by some supporters who were angry over the comments over the loud comments directed at the Black Stars captain.

The two 20-year-olds students of the Koforidua Polytechnic started shouting ‘Asamoah Gyan – where is Castro’ directing that at the UAE-based attacker as the Black Stars arrived for training on Wednesday morning.

Angry at what many of the fans thought were insensitive comments from Isaac Owusu and Bright Nistowel, the supporters turned on the duo threatening to beat them up.

The police at the stadium quickly swooped to arrest the duo to prevent them from being beaten up by the angry crowd who were gathering around them.

Some fans hooted at the two students as they were marched by the police for detention and further investigations.

While the police were marching them away the two lads were seen trading accusations over who mouthed the provocative words towards Asamoah Gyan in the stands.

Castro, a famous music icon in Ghana, disappeared and feared dead in July while on holidays at the Ada resort with his close friend Gyan.

It is feared he drowned while boating riding on the river in the holiday resort and his body has since not be found.

The Black Stars have been camping in Kumasi ahead of Saturday’s match against Uganda in Kumasi in the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

GSN u can lie paa oo….i was there live n coluored…no supporter threaten to beat anyone it was the police that tried to discipline them to find who said it….That comment really affected the baby jet and distracted the opening section of their training

  2. Kobe J says:

i now know why people say you guys are corrupt….it was assamoah gyan who pointed at the one who said it to be arrested…no fan was angry…on the contrary when he said it we all had a good laugh

  3. selfmade says:

These two rogue vagabonds shouod be dealt with severily!!

Some of these Ghanaian useless polytechnics students are good for nothing and just waste of our country scarce resources!!

This useless entity should be scrap because there is absolutely useless!!

Some human beings are so foolish how can Asamoah Gyan kill Castro? I am not Asamoah Gyan fan but beleived me or not he was not the one who killed Castro. No one knows what has happened to castro thats how God wanted it to be. Everyone created by God and God Almighty Has away of taken people lives. Look at Titanic ship that sank 19012 so many great great humans perish and their bodies was burried in the deep waters. Asamoah Gyan and Castro started friendship not today since there was both younger age. Both Castro Gyan used to go for holidays anytime Asamoah Gyan return home to relax non of them never lost but this time it happened lets just give everything to God,He knows best. Gyan is innocent trust me. I repeat Gyan is not my fan but I beleived in God that it was not Gyan who killed him or know about his missing. Remember Castro went with a lady friend not himself alone.

  5. designer baby says:

” arrested for detention and further investigations”??hahahaha…what a country of comedians ??? If we are really serious then Gyan and his friends who went on the trip should be arrested for questioning.

  6. Prince says:

Designer baby. I agree with . Ghana is a country of comedians. This what we call it 2nd amendment rights in the state. Those two boys where just exercising their freedom of speech and right to a lawful protest. Asamoah and anyone who was with Castro that day should be questioned. Don’t for get that anytime asamoah comes back from World Cup, someone dies hanging out with him.

  7. Emma says:

@Prince; I do not know much. Can you throw more light on your statement “Don’t for get that anytime asamoah comes back from World Cup, someone dies hanging out with him”.
I am sure a lot of people will want to know more!

  8. designer baby says:

Why should some ghànaians think that celebrities in Ghana should be above the law? Why are some Ghanaians so naive ? Someone went on a trip with his friends, two of them allegedly got drowned and we can’t arrest the rest and question them ?? Only in Ghana but not here in the USA. Our laws simply don’t work !!!

  9. Ekow says:

That’s where we as a nation fall short. Gyan was with Castro the day he and his friend got lost. Who else will be the best person to help in finding them? Up to this time the two are not yet to be found and if anybody dare to speak out they’ll arrest you because it is ghana. Remember, until the two are found, either alive or dead, their families are going through pain and psychological trauma. Do you think if it were in a developed world those who were with Castro would be walking free? I dare say life in ghana is cheap and we those who had the privilege to step out are those who are making it so. He may be innocent but the right channel must be followed to establish his innocence.

  10. Mr south africa says:

it’s common sense the last person to be seen with a perceived dead individual is the one who should be held for questioning which in this case is Gyan Asamoa

our president Jacob Zuma is attending court for R250 million which was spent illegally on renovations of his rural home.
he was brought before justice regardless of his high office.

so if this gentleman is the suspect people should not bit by the bush. or by the way u can Google president Zuma’s nkandla home.

  11. The legend. says:

Well spoken Designer baby. Only few people will see the sense in inviting Gyan for questioning over the disappearance of Castro.

  12. AK says:

Erect a monument of this guy and start worshipping him already! Haba! This guy will get away with virtually everything in this country. Yet, the minute someone says something unfavorable about him, that person is arrested. All because of some Petro Dollars!

  13. selfmade says:

All these people making noise here are ignorant of the law!!

Castro is not dead by Ghanaian law but is missing!!

Under ghanaian law, a person can be declared as dead after seven and half years after all available means has been exhausted so I don’t understand why anyone ll start to put the blame on gyan ll Castro death was a homicide which happened in gyans house!!

    Y’all should keep quiet!

  14. The Legend says:

@selfmade, none is ignorant of the Ghanaian law like you are claiming. Castro per te law isn’t dead. Whatever the case may be, the last time Castro was seen , he was in the company of Gyan and friends. Now, if Castro has gone missing it’s just rational that all those who were with Castro before his disappearance ought to be investigated.
All level headed Ghanaians are crusading that the security operatives should have called Gyan and friends for interrogations. Simple!
