A statement on the association’s official website read: “Turkish A National Team’s friendly game against Uzbekistan on 14 August was cancelled after unexpected weather conditions and namely extreme heat in Uzbekistans.”
“After this; Turkey, coached by Abdullah Avc?, will face Ghana in a friendly game on 14 August 2013 Wednesday at 21.30 (19.30 GMT) with Turkish local time in Atatürk Olympic Stadium, ?stanbul, Turkey.”
The Ghana Football Association was forced to look for another opponent after Iran withdrew from the friendly scheduled for the same date.
The Black Stars technical team is keen on making use of the available date to prepare for next month’s final Brazil 2014 Group D qualifier against Zambia at home.
The Turks will assemble on 12 August for the exhibition match to be played at the Atatürk Olympic Stadium in Istanbul.
