Phillipe Troussier predicts Ghana success at 2014 World Cup

Frenchman Phillipe Troussier, who is experienced in coaching African countries, says Ghana have a difficult task at the 2014 World Cup but the Frenchman says the Black Stars can overcome the ‘Group of Death’ if they believe they can defeat their opponents.

The Black Stars have been handed a tough group in the tournament in Brazil where they face Germany, Portugal and the United States in Group G.

Pundits have condemned the Black Stars as the lowest ranked team in the group and are bound to be eliminated against Germany and Portugal who are ranked 2nd and 5th respectively by FIFA.

Despite accepting that Ghana faces a tough task in the group, Troussier says the Black Stars can triumph if they get rid of their complexes.

“Ghana [in Group G with Germany, Portugal and United States] and Cameroon [in Group A with Brazil, Croatia and Mexico] will find it difficult.

“But African football has no complexes any more and they can all find reasons to dream.”

    This is how good coaches talk. Are Ghanaian authorities listening? Can we hire Troussier as a scout and special advisor?

  2. aberico says:

    Good point there! Of course, if we fail to believe in our capabilities as football warriors, then defeat and early exit from the competion becomes the rule for the day. But hey! I know the boys are serious, focused n hungry for a win, n they will come out strongly for a win to shick n impress the world once again.

  3. Dreada says:

    Ghana indeed has no complexes Co’s we have self believe, afterlife we beat Czech Republic when they were 4th on the ranking and we, 45 Moreno we have enough experience playing at the world cup
    GHANA = UPSETS
    :) ;)

    Yes he believes in Black Stars and what we can do when it comes to the world stage tounament like this…He is an outspoken man and he has spoken well…no one messes with Black Stars and go scot free..once again the world would be mesmerized to witness the wonders of no other than the Black Stars..

  5. DOGO says:

    I like the point this man has raised. The only attitude that will set us apart from the rest is believing in ourselves. If the Black Stars can psyche themselves up that they can win all their game, they can easily do that. I was watching the 2010 game between Germany and Ghana last night and I’m still wondering why we lost that game. The Black Stars were superior and they created more chances than Germany but in the end, Germany won by one goal. Why? Because the black stars did not have that WE CAN and WE BELIEVE mentality. I think we’ve got the talent, the skills and the technical abilities what is left is the mindset of the players. The team psycologist got to work on that. Lastly i beg the managers of the team to instill some hairdo descipline into them before they go to Brazil. It will be nice if they can all have a descent hair cut except those with locks. Let’s do away with that huhudious hairstyles. John bouye. Asamoah Gyan, KVP Wakaso and the rest should be adviced.

  6. NAIJA MAN says:

    ghna wont make it out of that group! it would be an early exit !

  7. Fifa One says:

    NAIJA MAN people like you with such mentality are going to be slaves to this white men for a long time. No wonder in the world cup we always performs better than your country because of some of the mindset such as yours in you national team. Ghana will sure make it out of our group with positive mindset. Continue to prophesy doom for your country and not for us because we don’t need such negative thinking people like you in our mist.

  8. Sir Africa says:

    By God grace all the five African teams will make it to the next round.

  9. adam4eve Ag.Swedruni ba says:

    @anonymous..u seem to be a peacemaker..i impole you to continue with this certainly it will help…and @ fifa one..i can see how passionate you are in your speach..i like how you actually constructed and put together your words against this NAIJAMAN..For it is always said in a ghanain proverbs that “he who never wishes a friend to climb a tree never quaranteed also to see its top”If he wishes bad luck for us theirs would worst and humiliating

  10. Capo di Capi says:

    @Anonymous
    Don’t be surprise. That’s the mentality of some Africans, pull him down attitude. “… If God is for us who can be against us? … Who is he that condemns? … No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from (the finals in Brazil) the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Rom. 8:28-39).
    If you are a Black Star fan shout hallelujah!!!!!
    God bless our homeland Ghana.

  11. John says:

    I am a naija i believe in blackstar.God bless 5 representatives of africa.Allez Afrique!
