Francis Obeng will be sent on loan

Italian Serie A giants AS Roma have announced they will send Ghanaian midfielder Francis Obeng on loan as they seek to prune down their squad to make way for incoming Turkish international Salih Ucan.

Obeng, 28, was acquired by Roma last season from Italian lower-tier side Carpri but he failed to impress on his debut season and was farmed out to Serie C side Santarcangelo.

The midfielder returned with hopes of having the chance to prove himself in Rudi García's squad but has been told he will be sent on loan again.

The arrival of Seydou Keita and Ucan at the Stadio Olimpico has limited their non-EU quota and the player will have to go on loan again.
