Ghana Premier League champions Asante Kotoko have confirmed attacker Issah Yakubu has refused to sign a new deal at the club.

The young striker's contract is set to expire in the coming months and the Porcupine had been working to convince him to sign a new deal at the club.

But have confirmed the former Liberty Professionals talisman has rejected a new offer proposed to him.

"Issah Yakubu has refused to renew his deal with us so it is likely that he will leave the club when his current deal expires," club insider Alhaji Ali Maradona told Accra-based Asempa FM.

Yakubu joined Kotoko from Liberty Professionals two seasons ago and has managed just under ten goals for the club.
