Ghana midfielder Kevin-Prince Boateng could make a shock move to French giants AS Monaco after being axed by German side Schalke.

Boateng was dropped from the Bundesliga side in their match against Bayern Munich on Saturday which has further fueled talk that he is on the verge of leaving the club.

According to reports in the German media, the 27-year-old is on his way out of the Veltins Arena after a row ensued between himself and Schalke manager Jens Keller over the club's number 10 shirt.

Boateng has asked his agent to look for suitors and is likely to leave the Bundesliga side to sign for the French outfit by Monday.

The rumour was further fueled on Saturday evening when he was left out of the Schalke squad that drew 1-1 with Bayern Munich giving the side their first point of the season.

Boateng's absence in the match has brough new energy to the team even though some have reported that he was left out owing to his ankle problems.

Keller questioned the form of the 2014 Ghana World Cup midfielder and Boateng has apparently been unhappy about his comments.
