Ugandan giants Kampala City Council claim they are in talks with Ghana champions Asante Kotoko to sign Uganda international defender Joseph Ochaya on loan.

However GHANAsoccernet.com checks can confirm the deal could be permanent as the full-back has just six months left on his running contract with the Porcupine Warriors.

Ochaya has returned to his homeland -  Uganda and has stated he will not rejoin the 23-time Ghanaian champions and with a couple of months left for his contract to expire, Kampala City Council have moved to sign him.

“We are in talks with the Ghana league champions Asante Kotoko and very soon I am optimistic we shall be able to sign Ochaya on loan,” club secretary David Tamale told GHANAsoccernet.com's East African correspondent Steve Kagiri.

Kotoko signed Ochaya in August 2012 for two-and-half seasons and he has opted not to remain in Kumasi anymore.
