Berekum Chelsea held TP Mazembe in the DR Congo
TP Mazembe coach Lamine Ndiaye has warned Berekum Chelsea that they can come to Ghana to win their return Champions League group game.
The 2009 and 2010 African champions are third in Group B with a solitary point after slumping to a 2-1 defeat by Ahly in Cairo before being held to a draw 2-2 at home to Ghana’s Berekum Chelsea on Sunday in DR Congo.
Despite a slow start to their African Champions League Group B campaign, TP Mazembe coach Lamine Ndiaye voiced optimism over his side’s chances to reach the competition’s semis.
“The situation is very complicated but we should not be desperate. We can beat anyone anywhere,” Lamine Ndiaye told the club’s official website.
“We have to work hard to recover. We should avoid the mistakes which we made in our past two games.”
Ndiaye hit back at critics suggesting that Mazembe suffered because of poor fitness levels, having lost to Ahly in injury time before surrendering a two-goal first-half lead against Chelsea.
”All these claims are nonsense. We have been playing with the same system since my arrival. We practice a scientific program with a very professional physical trainer.
“The problem was that the players lost concentration in the dying minutes. They committed several defensive mistakes as a result,” he added.
“We lost four solid defenders who left the club during the past two years. Their absence affected the team’s defence.”
The DR Congo champions will host Zamalek in their next Group B game on 4 August in Lubumbashi.
brekum is actually not the kindest so shut up
The coach didnt single out Chelsea. In any case,we will wait for them in Ghana.
First and foremost on behalf of myself and fellow Zambians who come to this site pass our heartfelt condolences to Ghanas loss of a patriotic leader, a comrade, a father and a president its always sad to see our African leaders die before finishing their mandates. MHSRIP. As a football fan and a friend to Ghanaians I say sorry guys and you have already found a leader in his vice, that’s the spirit we move on. Back to business, good Chelsea got a point from Lubumbashi nice play but I still believe TP can come and do an upset. TP didn’t play well very uncoordinated system thy played even me as a Zambian wasn’t impressed how Zambians performed in the game but watchout next game!
TP did not play well because their opponent forced them not to especially in the second half
Hahahaha! Haven’t they hear our History in Ghana and especially Berekum’s Ground!
We are waiting for you!
U r a fool,Wut defensive breakdown.it was a world class striker who demoralized ur defense..come and win!!
TP would be the luckiest team to survive in this group, not because they are not good. The coach just need something to console TP fans.
Listen to this coach you sat there and lost 4 points and here you are making a bee noise about beating somebody in their backyard maybe the only win you ii get in this group will be against zamalek at your old stadium so call new with rugby lines. Becasue they are the weakest in the club so far with all the names including the coach but not good in enough. Chelsea will qualify and play Esperance in the semis. word.
