Ghana midfielder Gladson Awako says he is disappointed he is not being given a chance to prove himself with the Black Stars.

The TP Mazembe star has won just one cap for his country which came in a friendly match against Argentina back in 2009.

Awako was a member of the golden generation of the world-conquering 2009 Ghana U20 team.

Most of the players in that famous Black Satellites are now key members of the Black Stars.

Players such as Andre Ayew, Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu, Samuel Inkoom, Daniel Opare and Rabiu Mohammed have been regular members of the Black Stars in recent years.

Awako however feels he is being left out as he has not been given enough opportunities with the senior national team.

“I sometimes get disappointed that I don’t get the chance to prove myself with the Black Stars,” he told Asempa FM.

“So I pray I get the chance for so I can justify myself in the national team, I am very ready for it.”

Awako joined TP Mazembe in 2011 and has since been a regular member of the Congolese side.

He is part of the current TP Mazembe team who are in the semi finals of the CAF Champions League where they face Algerian club ES Setif.
