Italian newspapers are reporting that Chelsea midfielder Michael Essien is in the country to complete his move to the AC Milan.

This follows reports that the 31-year-old has agreed to move and is now waiting on the Serie A giants to finalize terms including wages and the nature of his move before confirming the deal.

Essien has been persistently linked with a move to the San Siro in recent weeks.

His first team chances at Chelsea first-team are slim with plenty of options for manager Jose Mourinho in central midfield including David Luiz, Ramires and new £20m signing Nemanja Matic.

Essien has made just nine first-team appearances in all competitions so far this term and has reluctantly decided to leave Stamford Bridge in search of regular playing time.

I think Essien’s decision to depart Stamford Bridge in search of regular playing time is a step in the right direction and a giant leap toward reviving his dwindling career. In life, the moment you realise you are no longer deemed as relevant in your present set up,it is enough sign for you to move on. Whilst others reject you, others are waiting with open arms to welcome you. AC Milan will grant you regular playing time, seize the opportunity and prove to the world that you still have a lot of football in you. Go Essien,God is with you.

MOREOVER, HE IS GOING TO GET AN OPPORTUNITY TO PLAY IN THE CHAMPIONS LEAGUE AGAIN SINCE THIS IS ALSO EVERY PROFESSIONAL PLAYER DREAM TO PLAY IN THE CHAMPIONS LEAGUE
