Tony Lokko is mulling over an offer to become the new Heart of Lions coach, GHANAsoccernet.com can reveal.

The former Tema Youth trainer has guided Amidaus Professionals to the division one promotional play-offs after they topped their group.

Lions are looking for a new coach to replace veteran Ken August, who was sacked at the end of the season for poor performance.

The Kpando-based side missed relegation by the whisker and officials are anxious to make a quick decision on their technical direction ahead of a busy schedule this term and Lokko has been pencilled down for the job.

“There are a number of coaches we are considering but Lokko’s name is high on the table,” an insider told GHANAsoccernet.com

“We want to remain quite on the transfer market and hopefully when our pre-season start, our fans will get to know the players that we will be working with.”

Lokko begun his coaching career at Tema Youth five years ago where he worked under Isaac Opeele Boateng as his assistant.

He was later promoted after Opeele’s departure in 2009.

He guided the Harbour warriors back to the premier League after two years in Division One but resigned in 2011.

The former GHAPOHA defender has since been at Amidaus professionals and he team looks set to guide them to the top flight  next season.
