Tiero excited to face former coach in Europa

Ghanaian midfielder William Tiero is relishing facing his former coach Andre Villas-Boas who leads FC Porto against his Bulgarian side CSKA Sofia in their Europa Group L tie tonight.

The 29-year-old thrived under Villas-Boas at Portuguese side Academica Coimbra before joining Sofia in the summer.

"I know him. He's a nice gentleman and I'm going to play him tonight. He has a lot of confidence in me and I want to repay him. I hope my team wins as well," Tiero told Ghanasoccernet.com

Tiero played for 46 minutes in their Group opener at Turkish side Besiktas where they lost 1-0 at the Inonu Stadium.

The former Asante Kotoko played in Portugal for five years and was a member of Ghana squad at the 2004 summer Olympics in Athens, Greece.
