Thousands flock to see Black Stars train in Kumasi ahead of Sudan game

Over a thousand football fans watched the Black Stars' first training session on Wednesday afternoon in Kumasi showing that the interest in the Ghana national team is high as ever.

The Ghana squad arrived in the Ashanti Regional capital after 14:00GMT on Wednesday to continue with preparations for Sunday's 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Sudan.

The crowd, one of the biggest in recent times at the Paa Joe Park on the campus of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology sat throughout Kwesi Appiah's training session.

And the crowd delivered a ringing endorsement of the team's preparations as they cheered and applauded their team.

All 23 members of the Black Stars squad trained and will continue with their programme on Thursday after another afternoon session, this time at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium at 1600 GMT.

Some of the spectators sought audience with Ghana Football Association President Kwesi Nyantakyi and his other Executives about football matters.
